Mr. Andre Byrd, Ed.S., CMA

Greetings Stockbridge HS Community,

 I'm Andre Byrd, the Athletic  Director at Stockbridge High School. I grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and graduated from Columbia High School, where I played football, baseball, and basketball. After high school, I attended Morris Brown College and Fort Valley State University, continuing my football career at both institutions. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in 2004. I pursued further education, completing a Graduate Program in Technology in Education at Lesley University in 2008, followed by a Master's in Special Education from Grand Canyon University in 2012. In 2016, I obtained my Specialist in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.

Throughout my journey, I worked as a Special Education teacher, Head Baseball Coach, Head Wrestling Coach, and Assistant Head Football Coach at Newton County Schools in Covington, Georgia, from 2007 to 2017. In 2017, I transitioned to an administrative role as Assistant Athletic Director at Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia, where I served for three years before becoming the Athletics Director at Stockbridge High School.

I am deeply committed to the success of our student-athletes and manage all facets of our athletic programs. A key part of my role is serving as the bridge between athletics and academics, collaborating with the school to ensure we align our goals and values.
